Changes Should Be Made!!!

Some personal changes that we can make is that we can use less electricity and we can unplug things that we are not using. We can also stop using the phone too much and also we can use less makeup and less stuff that has oil on them. Our community can walk or take their bike to work instead of the bus and or their car. The government should start making laws that protect the oil and they can also stop distributing that much oil. TO decrase our carbon footprint we can start unplugging electronics we can also recycle more. We can show them how oil dependent we are and conivnce them to do the same. I will not go back into our old habbits because we will make sure to stop doing things that hur us and that hurts the environment too. Because if we disconnect our plugs we will pay less for electricity and if we stop using that much makeup we will pay less. And we will be saving alot of money and alot of oil too.

Why Does This Have to Happen to The Poor animals?!?!?!?

My name is Petra Borja and I work with the Greenpeace.

This oil spill really affects my life I love animals and I hate that there is oil around them and that they might die. It really concerns me that there are 210,000 gallons of oil in the ocean. I hate that the birds are having liver and kidney problems, poor animals they might die and if most of them die, OHHH NOOOO they might go into extinction. Beatiful animals like them are not supposed to be eating stuff that has oil in them. It harms them and it harms me. We have to help clean up for the poor animals that I love. I hope that their is no more animals dying I just dont like that . It makes me sad and I want to cry. I hope that Obama does not start offshore drilling, I wouldn’t like the animals getting hurt again. If another spill like this happends I dont wanna imagine how many more animals are going to die.

WE CANNOT LIVE WITOUT OIL... WE ARE TOO DEPENDENT

This past couple of days have been horrible. There are a lot of people who have lost their job; my neighbor who depended on his job to pay for his house now has to depend on the people that rent the other part of his house. He has to wait next to the mail box each month because he has to wait for his monthly unemployment check. I have noticed that anyone at this point of this crisis can get fired and cant support support the household.

Now I don’t waste as much money as before on what I wanted I have learned that money is really valuable in this crisis and that I need to save as much as possible. The money that I get from my work I save it and try not to waste too much. Every time that I have to get from one place to another I always travel by car, for me it is more comfortable than any other transportation. But this oil crisis is driving me crazy the gas is too expensive and sometimes I cant afford it. I have to buy gas because it is a necessity; I have to set my wants aside. Now I can’t go and buy the pair of shoes that I wanted because I have to save that money to buy gas. Elasticity plays a really big role in this economic problem because now that prices are higher I have to buy the products that I need, but I will buy the brand that is not as expensive as the one I am used to.
